| Mining started here at Amargosa Spring around 1850 and continued off and on decades. Here is the Spring that Brian is looking at. |
| In 1860 there were three ore crushers (arrastres ) operating here and the ore yielded $2500,00 per ton. They were Chilean-style Arrastres, the stone to the right being part of one. |  |
| The Amargosa cabin is believed to be the first structure in this part of the desert, being built around 1850. Photos to the left and below. |
