Caves that are dug into volcanic ash that blanket the area from Lava Creek eruption in Yellowstone National Park,
600 thousand years ago. The first people to occupy the area are really not known, but from 1877 to the 1960's the caves
were used. Even though Brown who owned Shoshone did not charge any rent, many people lived there.

In the 1930's Jack Crowley live here and this was his garage which at one time had a patio cover out front..

| This was the Henry Ashford residence in the 60's and later a man by the name of Papa Jim used it in the 1970's. |

Just in the draw to the south not far is the Cap and Magazine storage sites. They are far enough away
that if anything did happen I do not it would effected them much. Most people miss this one, if they have not read much about the Gulch.
