Gray Mill, Bodie California!

Here is the first time I have ever seen a two stamp set. That make the Gray Mill a seven stamp mill. The two stamp was slightly larger in size than the stamps in the five stamp set. Over the ridge to the east of Bodie on our way to get to the back side for photos of the old Bodie and Benton Depot. We did not stop here the last time we came through, so I thought I would pictures this time.
The mill is right before to get to the Sunshine Toll House that was operated by Hank Blanchard. The Mill was built in 1927 by Ed Gray, George Langrell, and Jack Holmes. They milled the ore from the Blue Point Mine located on the hill above, standard Hill.
The mill use a diesel engine to power the stamps
Notice the size of the two stamp compared to the five stamp set.
The dam here at the mill caught water discarded into Bodie Creek and Taylor Gulch for the mill to use.
