Montezuma Nevada !


This was another one of those Indians gave Ore to the whites, in Januray 1869. The following month the Patterson district was organized, and the following spring more than 400 came here. That started a camp which soon had a Blacksmith shop and stores. Property was going for $100 to $300 a lot. But the rich ore gave out and the camp was abandoned about 1873. It did have a post office, between 1872-1873.


Feb 3, 2001, Brian and tried to find Montezuma. Its on private property and there really is not a lot left. Here is the road going up to it.



Here was some of the equipment we found! This was right across the road from the town site.



On the way up we passed this kiln and a cabin which is shown below.
