Noonday Mine!We made several trips over to the Tecopa Mines this year. First being the Gunsight Mine which was founded around the 1870's and operated by J. B. Osborne. Osborne also owned the Noonday mine, and was the one who had the rail built from Tecopa to the Gunsight and Noonday. He took the shortest route which made the rail very steep down to Tecopa where he hooked up with the T & T railroad. These mines rum up til around 1942 when the rails were removed and the metal used for the war effort. The Noonday used a tram just like the Gunsight to transfer the ore from the Ore Bin down to the valley below, where it would be loaded onto ore cars headed down to Tecopa. The Tecopa mines were the Gunsight, Noonday, Donna Loy, Columbia, and the War Eagle. The Noonday mine ran all the way through the mountain and out the backside to more diggings, See link below!
